This work was begun in 2016.  The model was in a pose that seemed to direct her energy out and away from what would be the completed sculpture.  The challenge was to structurally support the pose without an internal armature while keeping the energy of the model and the viewer’s eye within the sculpture.  The book provides part of the structural support while the provocative, male head locks in the model’s gaze and her out reaching left hand.  The plinth may be rumbled bed linens or as a craftsman at the foundry remarked - a cloud vortex.  As a completed sculpture, it addresses the power of our imagination whether in dreams or through literature.
